Pretty in her dress on the way to the formal

Everyday is a real life nightmare
Every night is fight in her nightwear
Superheros don't exist in this life
But the villains are alive inside every night
Every fight she had was a fight with her dad
Support from her mom is something she never had
So bad it hurts feels like a curse
She would pray for good but then got the worst
Gave up on god gave up on hope
Turned to drugs as a way to cope
Wrote a two page note she was ready to go
Snuck in the garage and grabbed a rope
Proceeded to tie it up around a post
Kicked out the chair and started to choke
In her hand she held a knife
A second thought then saved her life
